Peter A. Lombardi, 83, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice.
Born on May 14, 1941, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Peter Anthony and Stella (Krstenansky) Lombardi. Peter was a longtime resident of Bonita Springs, FL, having previously lived in Rosemont, IL. Peter’s career began as the owner of a beauty salon, where he made his mark before transitioning to a distinguished role as the Director of the Convention & Visitors Bureau at the Donald F. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. He retired at the age of 64, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. Outside of his career, Peter was an avid golfer and a proud member of Worthington Country Club. He enjoyed the company of friends and loved spending time outdoors. Peter had a passion for cigars, politics, and was a loyal viewer of FOX News and football, where he was often seen discussing current events with his close-knit circle. Peter is survived by his beloved daughter, Lydia (Robert) Stawik of Palatine, IL; his sister, Alice Sitar of Niceville, FL; grandsons Cameron and Brandon; his niece, Stephanie Petrucelli of Tampa, FL; and many other cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda M. Lombardi; his brother, Andrew Lombardi; and his sister, Cynthia Perez.
A memorial service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail So., Bonita Springs, FL 34134. Following the service, he will be laid to rest beside his wife at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs Resurrection Garden.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, 27200 Imperial Pkwy., Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
Peter will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
